Welcome to Kendrick House Retirement Home
In a quiet corner of Thornton, Cape Town, is nestled a retirement home called Kendrick House. This home is run under the auspices of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa and all denominations are welcome.
Accommodation includes assisted living, semi-frail and frail care for 63 residents. Attached to the Home are 14 Flats and 12 Cottages, sold as Life Right units. The smooth running of Kendrick House is only achieved by the dedicated application of high standards by Administration and Nursing staff as well as that of our General Workers, who all go the extra mile to ensure that the Residents are comfortable and happy in their twilight days.
To provide accommodation for the elderly in a Christian environment which is affordable and secure – we see ourselves as being an efficient, integrated, caring home for the elderly and their families.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff.
Ever since my mother became a resident, she has received exceptional care, filled with love and support. Witnessing her transformation both physically and socially has been remarkable. The diverse activities offered by the home, along with the beautiful garden, have provided her with great joy and opportunities to socialize with fellow residents. Kendrick House is truly a place of harmony, tranquillity, and attentive care.

Thank you and the staff of Kendrick House
I wanted to send you a note to thank you and the staff of Kendrick House in particular the nursing staff. Mom has been with you for 6 months now and as things go, one always wonders if you have done the correct thing. Well, all my doubts were put to bed on Friday evening when she told me that when she dies and people ask me what she died of, I should answer “she laughed too much”. Thank you to especially the nursing staff who make sure that her every need is seen too and that she is happy and comfortable. I know that she is not always the easiest person, but I have not had any complaints from her about the care she receives at Kendrick House.
God bless each one of you and keep you safe
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Kendrick House is made up of so many moving parts, and each part working to keep the whole working in just perfect order. We want to say a deep appreciation to each member of staff who works at Kendrick House for your tireless dedication to residents and to the manager for keeping the wheels turning even in times such as Covid 19 which make things extremely difficult.
Thank you everyone, it has all been very much appreciated.
